The journey begins with a dramatic drive over the Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2,260 metres above sea level — the highest road pass in Africa — where green Berber villages cling to the mountain faces and sweeping valley views reward every curve of the road.

Approximately three hours later, you arrive at the legendary fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s best-preserved Kasbahs. Its distinctive Saharan architecture — adobe walls, grill-carved windows, and soft peach-toned towers — has made it an iconic backdrop for world-famous film productions.

The return to Marrakech follows the ancient Caravan Route through the Telouet Valley, where the atmospheric Telouet Kasbah stands as a monument to French-Moroccan history. Surrounded by palm, fig, and olive trees, its ornate interiors — original zellij tilework, preserved silks, and grand ceremonial halls — tell the story of the powerful El Pacha Glaoui family.
