What is Taroudant?+
A walled Souss-valley market town nicknamed 'little Marrakech' — ochre ramparts, two lively souks and almost no tour buses. Our 16-day southern adventure sleeps there between saffron country and the coast.
Where does Moroccan saffron come from?+
Taliouine, in the mountains east of Taroudant — cooperatives harvest the crocus flowers each autumn dawn. The visit (and the honest gram prices) is a highlight of the southern route; November is harvest season.
What are Morocco's surf towns like?+
Taghazout and Tamraght north of Agadir ride Atlantic swells from autumn to spring, with surf camps for every level. As a day stop they make a fun coastal lunch; as a stay, we can build surf mornings into a tailor-made week.
