Can beginners climb Mount Toubkal?
Fit beginners, yes: it is a long walk at altitude, not a climb — outside winter no ropes or technical skill are needed. You need good legs for 1,000+ m days and a licensed mountain guide, mandatory since 2019. Ours come with mule support included.
How far are the Atlas mountains from Marrakech?
The Ourika valley starts 45 minutes from the city; Imlil, the Toubkal trailhead, is about 1 h 30. That is close enough for a day-hike between two Marrakech nights — or the start of a 2–5 day trek.
What does a Toubkal trek cost?
Our 5-day combination — Toubkal summit with guide and mules, then the Sahara with a camel ride and desert camp — runs from €345 per person, private. Shorter 2-day summit treks and gentle valley day-hikes are quoted on request.
