Erg Chebbi or Zagora?
The Sahara is the reason most travellers come to Morocco, and it never disappoints: a camel line on a dune crest, a camp glowing in the dusk, drums around a fire and a silence at dawn you can hear. We run desert circuits from two to sixteen days, to both the great Erg Chebbi dunes and the nearer sands of Zagora.

What a desert stage holds
Erg Chebbi at Merzouga is the postcard — dunes up to 150 metres, reached via the gorges and kasbah roads. Zagora is smaller sand but a shorter drive, perfect for tight schedules and young children. Either way you ride camels at sunset, sleep under canvas, and wake for the best sunrise of your life.

When to go
October to April is the sweet season — warm days, cold starry nights. Summer desert runs are possible with the right pacing (dawn starts, air-conditioned driving, camp after sunset), but spring and autumn are kinder.

Our private circuits start at €300 per person for 2 days to Zagora and €600 for the 4-day Erg Chebbi route; a full week combining the imperial cities and the dunes is from €1050. That covers the vehicle, driver, guide, hotels and the desert camp — flights excluded. The exact quote is confirmed on WhatsApp before anything is booked.
Erg Chebbi or Zagora — which desert should I choose?
Erg Chebbi at Merzouga is the great dune sea — sands up to 150 metres — and needs at least 4 days from Marrakech. Zagora is smaller, stonier desert but only a day’s drive, which makes the 2-day trip possible. If you have the time, Erg Chebbi wins; if you have a weekend, Zagora is the honest choice.
What is the best month for a desert tour?
October to April: warm days, cold starry nights. March–April and October–November are the sweet spots. Summer is possible — we run dawn starts, air-conditioned driving and reach camp after sunset — but spring and autumn are kinder.
Is one night in the desert enough?
One night works on a tight schedule — you still get the sunset camel trek, dinner by the fire and the dawn. Two nights change the trip: a day inside the dunes, tea with nomad families, Gnawa music in Khamlia, and time to simply sit still in the biggest silence you’ll ever hear.
Can children do a desert tour?
Yes — the trip is private, so the pace is yours: extra stops, shorter camel stretches, early nights. For young children we usually suggest Zagora (shorter drives) or a 4-day Erg Chebbi route with an overnight break in the gorges on the way.
What is a luxury desert camp actually like?
A real bed with proper linen, a private ensuite bathroom with a hot shower, dinner and breakfast served at the camp, and drums around the fire after dark. Canvas, yes — camping, no.
