Fes to Marrakech through the Sahara in four days — Ifrane’s alpine surprise and the Azrou cedar monkeys, Erg Chebbi’s dunes with a camel ride at sunset, a half-day 4×4 exploration with Khamlia’s Gnaoua music and a nomad-family tea, then the Todra Gorges, Dades valley and a night in the Skoura oasis with Kasbah Amridil before the Tichka delivers you to the red city. Itinerary

Day 1 Fes – Ifrane – Azrou cedars – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
South via 'Little Switzerland', the cedar forest and its macaques, a Berber-village lunch stop and the fossil country of Erfoud — reaching Erg Chebbi for a sunset camel ride; night in a luxury riad.
Day 2 Explore the desert & nomad family visit
Half-day 4×4 safari around Merzouga: Khamlia's Gnaoua musicians, tea with a nomad family, free time for sandboarding or quad — then camels into the dunes for dinner and a night at the camp under the stars.
Day 3 Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley – Skoura Oasis
The Alaouite mausoleum at Rissani, the 300-metre walls of Todra, the Dades' gardens — ending among Skoura's palms with a visit to Kasbah Amridil.
Day 4 Skoura – Ouarzazate – Aït Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
'Africa's Hollywood', the UNESCO ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, then the Tizi n'Tichka down to Marrakech.

Questions travellers ask
What is a desert camp actually like?+
Our standard is the luxury ensuite camp: a proper bed with linen, a private bathroom with hot shower, rugs, lanterns, dinner served at camp and music by the fire. It is under canvas and off-grid — but closer to a small hotel in the dunes than to camping.
How long is the camel ride, and is it hard?+
About an hour into the dunes at sunset, at walking pace with a handler leading — no experience needed, and children love it. If camels are not for you, a 4×4 transfer to the same camp takes minutes; just tell us.
How cold does the desert get at night?+
Colder than anyone expects: near freezing on December–February nights, and a sharp drop after sunset in any season. Camps provide thick blankets; you provide a warm layer and something for your head.
Erg Chebbi or Zagora — which desert should I choose?+
Erg Chebbi (Merzouga) is the great dune sea — 150-metre dunes and the classic Sahara picture — but it is a long drive. Zagora's dunes are smaller and a day closer to Marrakech, ideal for 2-day tasters and young children. Our tour pages say clearly which one each route visits.
