Day 1 Arrival in Casablanca — Rabat
The journey opens on the Atlantic: pickup at Casablanca and the short coast road to Rabat, the calmer capital, for the Kasbah of the Oudayas at golden hour and a first Moroccan dinner near the medina walls.
Day 2 Rabat — Tangier
North along the ocean to Tangier, where Europe hangs on the horizon. The kasbah and its museum, the café terraces above the strait, and — if the light invites — Cape Spartel where two seas trade colours. Night in the white city.
Day 3 Tangier — Chefchaouen
Into the Rif: the mountain road south delivers you to Chefchaouen at the blue hour, when the lanes are at their deepest and the day-trippers gone. The Spanish Mosque viewpoint takes the sunset; the kasbah square takes your dinner order.
Day 4 Chefchaouen — Fes
A last blue morning, then the road of empires: Volubilis for Roman mosaics under open sky, and onward to Fes, arriving as the medina's ten thousand lanes light their lamps. Riad inside the walls, of course.
Day 5 Fes, the spiritual heart
Fes, the spiritual heart, given a full guided day: the madrasas' carved cedar, the doorway views into Al-Qarawiyyin, the coppersmiths' concert, the tanneries from a mint-scented terrace. Evening free on the rooftops with the swallows.
Day 6 Fes — Merzouga
The great crossing south: Ifrane's improbable alpine chalets, the cedar forests and their macaques, Midelt beneath the Ayachi wall, and the Ziz gorges spilling palms toward the sand. Camels at Merzouga's golden hour; camp, lanterns, drums, stars.
Day 7 A day in the dunes
A whole day of Sahara — the loop's beating heart. Sunrise from the crest, 4×4 lines through the dune sea, gnawa rhythms in Khamlia, tea with a nomad family, and a second night when the silence finally introduces itself properly.
Day 8 Merzouga — the gorges — Ouarzazate
Westward through the water-carved country: the Todra Gorge's canyon-floor walk, the Dadès valley's fortress parade, and Ouarzazate — the desert's Hollywood — for the night, kasbah Taourirt included.
Day 9 Aït Ben Haddou and the kasbahs
Aït Ben Haddou gets what it deserves: unhurried hours. Guided through the UNESCO ksar's earthen lanes to the granary viewpoint, the river oasis below, and time to simply sit where the caravans once did.
Day 10 Ouarzazate — Marrakech
Over the Tizi n'Tichka — 2,260 m of switchbacks and mint-tea belvederes — and down into Marrakech by afternoon. First souk contact at dusk, when Jemaa el-Fna begins its nightly self-performance.
Day 11 A day in the High Atlas
A mountain day from the city: the Imlil valley under Toubkal's wall, village walks on mule paths, walnut shade, tea on a rooftop with North Africa's highest peak filling the window. Back to Marrakech by evening.
Day 12 Marrakech — Essaouira
The argan road west — cooperative stop, real oil — to Essaouira: ramparts and cannon, blue boats, gulls in the rigging, sardines grilled beside the fleet. Two nights here, because the wind city rewards staying.
Day 13 Essaouira at leisure
Essaouira at leisure: the flat gallery-lined medina, the beach's long curve, thuya-wood workshops, perhaps a morning ride or simply the ramparts café circuit. The trip exhales; let it.
Day 14 Essaouira — Marrakech
Back to Marrakech with salt in the air — the afternoon free for whatever the Red City left unfinished: a palace, a hammam, one determined final purchase in the souk.
Day 15 Marrakech — Casablanca, departure
The motorway north to Casablanca, timed to your flight, closing the loop where it began — fifteen days that left no region unvisited and no appetite unfed.
Fifteen days is the loop's honest size: only two stages exceed five hours, both on Morocco's most beautiful roads. It runs Casablanca-to-Casablanca for single-airport tickets and reverses cleanly. Prime months: March–May and September–November.
