Tangier to Marrakech in six days — the strait to the Red City in one southbound line through everything that matters between them. Chefchaouen the first evening, Fes via Volubilis and Meknes with a full medina day, the Atlantic capitals of Rabat and Casablanca, and a Marrakech finale where the south begins.
This is the itinerary we hand travellers arriving from Spain: off the ferry and into depth the same afternoon, with the country unspooling logically all the way down. No stage repeats, no drive exceeds four and a half hours, and every night has a medina outside the door.
Private vehicle and driver-guide door to door; licensed local guide in Fes; riads inside the old towns.
Six days from the Strait of Gibraltar to the Red City, one direction only: off the ferry and into Chefchaouen’s blue lanes, Volubilis and Meknes on the road to Fes, a full day inside the Fes medina, then Rabat and Casablanca before the final run to Marrakech. From €900 per person with private car, driver and licensed city guides.
This is the natural route for travellers arriving from Spain — Tarifa to Tangier is thirty-five minutes by fast ferry — and it turns the crossing into an advantage: Morocco unrolls southward in historical order, from the Rif to the imperial plains to Marrakech, with no backtracking and no internal flight.
Couples doing Andalusia and Morocco in one trip book this more than anyone. Private departure on your dates: send them on WhatsApp and the day-by-day quote, hotels named, comes back within the hour.
Who this tour is for: a lean six-day line from the strait to the Red City, cities only. Add the Sahara with the Morocco Desert Tour from Tangier via Chefchaouen & Fes; with four more days, the Morocco Itinerary 10 Days gives the same line its full depth.
The quick trip through Morocco’s best cities, done in the right order: enter from Europe at Tangier, exit from Marrakech six days later, with the blue city, Volubilis, a full Fes medina day, Rabat and Casablanca threaded in between. The schedule respects the one rule rushed itineraries break — Hassan II Mosque interiors open to visitors in the morning, so the route sleeps on the coast and visits before the final run to Marrakech’s souks.

Open a day to see the detail: transport, accommodation, meals and activity time.
Welcome at the port or airport of Tangier, where Europe is a smudge on the horizon behind you. If the timing is kind, a first mint tea above the strait; then the Rif road climbs south through Ouazzane's olive hills to Chefchaouen, delivering you into the blue lanes at exactly the hour they glow. Dinner by the kasbah, mountain air included.

A last blue morning, then the day of empires: Volubilis for a guided hour among Roman mosaics and triumphal stone, whitewashed Moulay Idriss on its two holy hills, and Meknes for Bab Mansour and the endless granaries of Moulay Ismail. Fes receives you at dusk — the medieval city starts where the taxi lane ends.

Fes el-Bali, all day, with a licensed guide: madrasas, the ancient university's doorways, tanneries from a leather terrace, funduqs and artisan rows where the guild system never stopped. This is the deepest medina in the world and it rewards every hour you give it. Evening on a rooftop as the swallows patrol.

The Atlantic day: west to Rabat for the Hassan Tower, the mausoleum and the Oudayas' blue kasbah above the river, then down the coast to Casablanca. An evening on the Corniche — Morocco's big-city seafront — and an early night before the final push south.

The Hassan II Mosque opens the morning if you wish (the guided interior visit is worth the timing), then the motorway south across the plains until the Koutoubia rises out of the haze. Marrakech by mid-afternoon: first souk contact with the light going gold, and Jemaa el-Fna igniting for the evening's theatre.

A free morning to let Marrakech make its case — the Bahia's ceilings, one decisive souk purchase, a courtyard breakfast that overstays — then the airport transfer. Six days, strait to Red City, the whole northern story told in order.

Tell us your ferry sailing (Tarifa→Tangier Ville ≈ 1 h) and the pickup waits at the port. The route pairs naturally with our desert circuits from Marrakech — many travellers bolt on the 4-day Erg Chebbi loop and fly home from the same airport.
From €900 per person, per person. The price includes private air-conditioned 4×4 or minivan with english/french-speaking driver-guide — 6 days, pickup at tangier airport or your hotel, night 1: chefchaouen riad — half-board. You receive a written itemised quote before paying anything — no hidden fees.
6 Days, departing on the dates you choose — there is no fixed schedule, because every departure is arranged for you alone.
Fully private: your own vehicle, driver and licensed guide, never seat-in-coach and never mixed with other travellers. The daily pace flexes around you.
The blue is a 20th-century tradition that deepened over the decades — histories often credit the town's Jewish community in the 1930s with spreading the wash — and today residents repaint their lanes regularly, which is why the colour always looks fresh. Earlier Chefchaouen was largely whitewashed, as Rif towns typically were.
The blue-washed medina above all — but also its Rif-mountain setting, a famously relaxed pace compared with the imperial cities, the sunset view from the Spanish Mosque, cold spring water at Ras el-Maa, and wool weaving you will see drying on the walls. It is Morocco's most photogenic small town.
The name comes from the Berber word for 'horns' — chaouen — after the twin mountain peaks that rise directly above the town. Locals simply say 'Chaouen'.
The blue lanes themselves are the sight: give them an unhurried morning. Beyond them, Uta el-Hammam square and the kasbah, the Ras el-Maa spring where the medina meets the mountain, the Spanish Mosque viewpoint at sunset, and — for walkers — day hikes into Talassemtane National Park. One overnight covers it beautifully.
