Casablanca is Morocco's working metropolis and its main gateway — most long circuits start here, about 2h30 from Marrakech. The Hassan II Mosque, built out over the Atlantic and open to non-Muslim visitors on guided tours, is reason enough to stay a night; our circuits from Casablanca start at €495 per person for 6 days.

Not a postcard city — a real one: Art Deco avenues from the protectorate years, the Habous quarter's arcaded lanes, the ocean-side Corniche, and a café culture that runs on business rather than tourism. Give it half a day on arrival and it repays the curiosity.

What to see and do

Planning Casablanca

  • Most intercontinental flights land here — starting your circuit in Casablanca saves a transfer
  • Half a day to a day covers the essentials; the mosque visit is the fixed point
  • About 2h30 to Marrakech, 1h20 to Rabat — the motorway network is excellent
