The least romantic question about Morocco deserves the clearest answer: city tap water here is treated and locals drink it, but visitors’ stomachs usually haven’t met its mineral profile and microbial background — so the sensible traveller’s rule is bottled or filtered. Here is the full, practical picture.

The nuanced reality

This is not a contamination horror story: urban Moroccan tap water meets treatment standards, and brushing teeth with it troubles almost nobody. The issue is adjustment — unfamiliar flora meeting an unprepared gut mid-holiday. Rural wells and mountain sources are a different, genuinely variable matter.

The working rules

Drink bottled or filtered water; check seals on street-bought bottles. Ice in tourist restaurants is almost always filtered-water ice — fine; ice from unknown street sources, skip. Salads in reputable places are washed properly; peel roadside fruit yourself. Mint tea and coffee are boiled — always safe, endlessly available.

The plastic problem, solved better

A filtering bottle or purification tablets turn any tap into supply and spare the Sahara a trail of plastic — increasingly our travellers’ choice, and ours. On our circuits the vehicle carries bottled water as standard anyway; the filter bottle is for your conscience and your day-walks.

If your stomach wobbles anyway

Most “Morocco belly” is 24 hours of adjustment, not disaster: hydrate (oral rehydration salts pack small), eat plain, and every pharmacy — marked by green crosses, staffed by competent pharmacists — dispenses the fix without ceremony. The full health kit-list waits in the health & safety FAQ.

Can I send my request by email instead of WhatsApp?+

Yes. The booking form lets you choose how to send your request — by WhatsApp or by email — and we answer through the channel you picked. Either way your request is registered with the same reference number.

What happens after I send a booking request?+

We check availability for your date, confirm the price for your group size, and send back a confirmation with your reference. Only once you approve that confirmation is anything considered booked.

When and how do I pay?+

After your booking is confirmed you can pay securely online, or on site in cash or by bank transfer before departure. We never ask for payment before confirming availability and price in writing.
