Most Morocco trips that start badly start the same way: an unlicensed middleman, a WhatsApp deposit, and a “tour” that turns out to be a seat in someone else’s van. Choosing an agency in Casablanca — often the arrival city — deserves five careful minutes. Here is what to actually check, from an operator’s side of the counter.
The licence is not a formality
A legitimate Moroccan tour operator holds a tourism authorisation from the ministry and can quote it without hesitation — ours is Autorisation 1550/TOUR/2018, alongside a commercial registration (RC 92543) you can verify. Ask for the number before you discuss money. The bottom of our site carries all of it, because a company that publishes its papers has nothing to manage around.
Five questions that sort the field
“Is the departure private or shared?” — vague answers mean shared. Every departure we run is private; that should be stated, not implied. “What exactly is included?” — a serious quote lists vehicle, driver, hotels, entries, line by line. “When do I pay?” — availability and price confirmed in writing first, payment after, never before. “Whose vehicles and drivers?” — licensed tourist transport, not a cousin with a sedan. “Can I see recent reviews?” — recent matters more than many.
Red flags worth walking away from
Prices with no itinerary attached; pressure to pay a large deposit today; airport touts (the classic scams, catalogued); and any answer to “private?” that begins with “basically”. A fair operator survives your questions comfortably.
