The difference between a good Morocco trip and a great one is rarely the route — everyone drives the same roads. It is who organised it. Here is the checklist we would use ourselves, written from the inside of the industry.

Five things to verify before you pay anyone

A licence you can read. Legitimate Moroccan operators carry a tourism authorisation number and guides carry state licences — ours are printed in the footer of every page. A person, not a portal. If your questions are answered by the same human who will manage your trip, problems get solved in minutes, not ticket queues. Named hotels and camps. “4-star similar” is where disappointments hide; a serious quote names the actual riad. Private means private. Ask directly whether anyone else will be in your vehicle — the answer should be a flat no, in writing. Prices in daylight. If the site shows no prices at all, the quote will be shaped by what you seem able to pay.

Red flags worth walking away from

Full payment demanded upfront to a personal account; “luxury camp” at a price that cannot include a private bathroom; reviews that exist only on the agency’s own website; WhatsApp numbers that change mid-conversation.

How we try to pass our own test

Every departure we run is private, prices start from a published €150 per day on the circuit pages, and no payment is taken at the enquiry stage — you talk first, on plan your journey, and the booking FAQ answers the awkward questions before you have to ask them.

Plan it properly

Everything on this page can be woven into a private itinerary — start from the travel FAQ, and we shape the rest around you.

About the author

Anas Benjelloun — Anas covers the practical side of travelling in Morocco — money, SIM cards, taxis, scams to sidestep, what things cost and when to book. He updates his pages the boring way, by checking, and takes a quiet pride in the fact that his airport-to-medina instructions have never stranded anyone. If a price appears in one of his articles, he has paid it recently.

Questions travellers ask

How do I book a tour?+

Pick a circuit and use the booking widget on its page (choose a date and number of travellers), or simply message us on WhatsApp at +212 661 454 738 with your dates and group size. You receive a booking reference (KM-XXXXXX) and a reply within the hour. No payment is taken at this stage.

Can I send my request by email instead of WhatsApp?+

Yes. The booking form lets you choose how to send your request — by WhatsApp or by email — and we answer through the channel you picked. Either way your request is registered with the same reference number.

What happens after I send a booking request?+

We check availability for your date, confirm the price for your group size, and send back a confirmation with your reference. Only once you approve that confirmation is anything considered booked.

When and how do I pay?+

After your booking is confirmed you can pay securely online, or on site in cash or by bank transfer before departure. We never ask for payment before confirming availability and price in writing.
