Ten days from Tangier to Marrakech is the itinerary we would build for a friend with one shot at Morocco: ferry in at the top, fly out at the bottom, and the entire country — blue town, medieval capital, Sahara, kasbahs, red city — threaded once, in order, with no day wasted doubling back.
Days 1–3: the north in sequence
Tangier’s kasbah and strait-side swagger on day 1; the Rif road to Chefchaouen on day 2 with the blue hour from the Spanish mosque; day 3 south through Ouazzane to Fes, arriving in time for dinner above the medina’s ten thousand lights.
Days 4–6: Fes and the great descent
Day 4 belongs to Fes entirely — the guided medina immersion this trip pivots on. Day 5 crosses the middle Atlas: Ifrane, the cedar macaques, Midelt, the Ziz palm canyon, desert by dusk (the long day, honestly declared: 7–8 hours). Day 6 is the reward — Rissani’s souk, golden-hour camels into Erg Chebbi, a private camp, the sky.
Days 7–8: the kasbah corridor
Sunrise dunes, then Todgha gorge and the Dades valley (day 7); Skoura’s oasis and Aït Ben Haddou at its quiet hour, sleeping by the ksar (day 8). This stretch is why the one-direction design wins — every site arrives at its best light.
Days 9–10: over the pass, into the red
The Tizi n’Tichka down to Marrakech on day 9 — Jemaa el-Fna at lamplight as your arrival ceremony — and day 10 for the guided medina, a garden, and the flight out of RAK. Country: complete.
