Day 1: the argan coast to Essaouira
North from Agadir on the coast road — tree-climbing goats, ocean overlooks — reaching Essaouira by late morning. The full ramparts-port-medina circuit at walking pace, grilled sardines where the boats land them, gnaoua rhythms in the lanes, sunset from the skala’s cannons. Sleep inside the walls; the town after the day-trippers leave is its true self.
Day 2: Essaouira morning, Marrakech evening
The morning for what you choose — a beach ride at Diabat, the woodworkers’ souk, one more harbour coffee — then the inland road (about 3 hours) to Marrakech and the first plunge: Jemaa el-Fna as the lamps light, dinner on a terrace above the theatre.
Day 3: Marrakech, guided and unhurried
A licensed guide for the morning — Bahia palace, the souks’ actual geography, the lanes you would never refind alone — and an afternoon built to taste: Majorelle and YSL, a hammam, last-minute souk diplomacy. Flight out of RAK, or hand the baton to a desert extension.
