Is Morocco suitable for older travellers?

Accepted Answer

Excellent for them — private pacing is the whole product: shorter walking blocks, unhurried starts, the car always near, and hotels chosen for comfort. Many of our most devoted guests are in their seventies.

How walkable are the medinas with limited mobility?

Accepted Answer

Surfaces are cobbled and occasionally stepped, but the main arteries of Marrakech and Essaouira are manageable at a gentle pace, and guides route around stairs. Fes is the steepest — we adapt with shorter loops and terrace viewpoints.

Are there riads with elevators or ground-floor rooms?

Accepted Answer

Traditional riads are stairs-first, but many have ground-floor rooms and several fine hotels offer lifts near every medina. Flag mobility needs at booking and we choose accordingly — this matters more than any other detail you can give us.

Question 4

Can wheelchair users visit Morocco?

Accepted Answer

With planning, yes: new-town hotels, adapted vehicles on request, the great sights that need no stairs (Volubilis' paths, the Hassan II esplanade, kasbah exteriors, desert sunsets by 4×4). We will be honest about which classics do not adapt — and build the trip from those that do.

What health logistics should seniors consider?

Accepted Answer

Bring medications in original packaging with prescriptions, note that pharmacies are ubiquitous and clinics good in cities, and carry insurance with medical repatriation. Heat is the main adversary — we schedule shade, and travel spring or autumn when possible.

Is the desert night feasible at 75?

Accepted Answer

Regularly done and regularly loved: camps have real beds and ensuite bathrooms, the camel is optional (4×4 to camp), and sunrise requires only stepping outside the tent. If sleeping at altitude in the Atlas is the question — we route around it.

How long are the driving days, and can they be shortened?

Accepted Answer

Classic desert stages run three to five hours of driving broken by real stops — a kasbah, a gorge walk, a proper lunch. Being private, every stage can be split with an extra overnight (Skoura and the Dades are natural halfway houses), and we do this routinely for guests who prefer two easy days to one long one.

Are rest stops and toilets manageable on the road?

Accepted Answer

Yes — our drivers know every clean café and hotel bathroom between Marrakech and the dunes, and stop on your rhythm, not a schedule's. Carrying a small pack of tissues remains the one universal Morocco tip; beyond that, the road is far more comfortable than its reputation.

We're a couple with different mobility levels — does that work?

It is one of the quiet advantages of private: one of you climbs to the kasbah roof while the other takes mint tea with the view, and nobody holds up a group. Tell us who walks how far and we build days both of you finish happy.

Which circuits suit older travellers best?

Accepted Answer

The imperial cities route (Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, Marrakech) is the gentlest — good hotels, short transfers, history over hiking. The 4–5 day desert loops work beautifully with an extra night added. All run from €150 per person per day, and every one of them adapts, because every departure is private — never in a group.
