Questions travellers ask

How much do monument tickets cost in Morocco?+

Most state-run historic monuments charge modest fixed tickets — commonly in the 20–100 MAD range per adult (roughly €2–10) — while medinas, gates, ramparts and many viewpoints are free. Each of our monument pages states the current order of price and where to pay; rates evolve, so we note them prudently and confirm on request.

Can non-Muslims visit mosques in Morocco?+

As a general rule, no — working mosques are closed to non-Muslims. The famous exceptions are the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca (guided interior tours) and the Tinmel mosque historically; madrasas, mausoleum courtyards such as Mohammed V and Moulay Ismaïl, and synagogues welcome visitors. Every page on this register states the access rule honestly.

Are guided visits worth it at Moroccan monuments?+

At the great medinas and madrasas, transformative: a licensed guide turns lanes and carvings into history, handles tickets and timing, and keeps the hustle away. All our monument visits run with licensed city guides — book any monument day on WhatsApp (+212 661 454 738) and the reply comes within the hour.

How many UNESCO World Heritage sites does Morocco have?+

Nine cultural sites: the medinas of Fes, Marrakech, Tétouan and Essaouira, the ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, the historic cities of Meknès and Rabat, the Roman ruins of Volubilis, and the Portuguese city of El Jadida (Mazagan). Every one of them has its page in this register.
